My stay at Virgin Hotels Chicago was mixed. I appreciated the modern aesthetics and friendly service, but some issues with room comfort and dining left much to be desired. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring downtown, yet the noise from the nearby elevated railway was quite disruptive at times.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, with quirky sliding doors that added a unique touch. However, the mattress was disappointing, as it felt uneven and uncomfortable. I switched rooms, but unfortunately, the second mattress wasn't much better.
Service
7.0
Service from the staff was friendly and they made an effort to help, like when they accommodated my request for a room with a bath. Despite this, one staff member failed to make restaurant reservations I had requested, which was frustrating.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was very nice, right in the heart of downtown. I could walk to many attractions, making it convenient for my plans. However, the noisy train nearby made sleeping more difficult.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast at Miss Ricky's was not up to par. On one occasion, I was denied breakfast due to reservation-only policies, which was totally unacceptable given the cost of the stay.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were adequate, with services like valet parking and room service available. However, there were moments that made the experience uncomfortable, such as difficulty with the airport taxi service arranged by the hotel.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at Virgin Hotels Chicago. The location was fantastic, with easy access to attractions and dining, but some aspects of the experience left much to be desired. While some staff were friendly and helpful, others didn’t meet my expectations, and there were some issues with room comfort that overshadowed the positives.

Rooms
5.0
The room I received initially had a mattress that was uncomfortable and problematic. Even after changing rooms, I found similar issues with the mattress quality. I expected more from a hotel of this caliber regarding sleep comfort.
Service
5.0
Service was inconsistent. While some staff members, like those at the front desk, were friendly and were able to provide some assistance, I had an unpleasant interaction about my taxi request that left a negative impression.
Location
10.0
The hotel’s location was a major highlight. It was conveniently close to attractions like Millennium Park and offered easy access to restaurants and the L train, making it ideal for exploring the city.
Dining
8.0
Dining at Miss Ricky's was a nice touch, especially with the complimentary food vouchers I received for my anniversary. The food itself was good and made for some enjoyable meals during my stay.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offered a range of great facilities. However, I found the room service hours to be a bit restrictive, and I wish they provided 24-hour options as that would have really enhanced my experience.

My stay at Virgin Hotels Chicago was marked by friendly staff and a clean room, but there were a few hiccups that affected my overall experience. The air conditioning in my room wasn’t very effective, which was a bit uncomfortable during my stay. Nonetheless, the hotel's location is fantastic, making it easy to explore the city.

Rooms

The room was clean and spacious, though the occasional noise from the train nearby was a bit disruptive. Overall, it's one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at during business travel.

The staff were amazing, always accommodating and friendly. They went out of their way to assist me, even after checkout when they helped locate an item I left behind.
Location
10.0
The location is superb, right in the heart of downtown. It made accessing attractions like Millennium Park and the Riverwalk incredibly easy.
Dining
7.0
I didn't get to try the dining options, but I heard good things about Miss Ricky's and the rooftop bar. However, some guest experiences indicated dining could be a bit pricey.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had convenient facilities, but I did notice that there was some confusion surrounding in-room dining options. It would be better if the ordering process was simpler.

My stay at Virgin Hotels Chicago had its ups and downs. The room was clean and aesthetically modern, which I appreciated. However, the service left much to be desired, especially during check-in, where I faced long wait times and rude staff. Overall, I loved the amenities in the room but was disappointed with the attentiveness of the staff. 😕

Rooms
8.0
The room was well-designed with modern aesthetics and innovative features, providing a comfortable space to relax. I really liked the separate shower and the large vanity area. However, I did encounter some issues with cleanliness, as the second room smelled unpleasant.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were friendly, I faced rude behavior during check-in and issues with room service after my arrival. There were moments when my requests were overlooked, which detracted from my overall experience.
Location
9.0
The hotel was centrally located, making it easy to explore Chicago's attractions, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was close to the riverwalk and only a short walk from major sights.
Dining
6.0
Dining at Miss Ricky's had its moments, with some meals being delicious, but I did experience long wait times and confusion with orders. I was hoping for a smoother experience.
Facilities

The hotel offered a range of facilities, though I was disappointed with the rooftop bar being unavailable during my stay. The amenities in the room were generally good, but I expected more attention to detail.

I had an lovely experience at Virgin Hotels Chicago, especially thanks to the attentive staff and lovely room decor. However, the rooftop noise during the evenings was a bit distracting and affected my sleep. The dining options were overall satisfying, though some items felt overpriced for what they offered.

Rooms
9.0
My Grand Chamber King suite was spacious and beautifully designed, featuring a separate living and sleeping area. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the in-room mini bar with a good selection of reasonably priced snacks. A few more toiletries would have been nice, but overall, I felt quite pampered.
Service
10.0
The service was truly really good. Special shoutout to Elina for going above and beyond with personal touches, like a birthday cake for my husband. The staff was friendly, and Darrell at the front desk made us feel like family with his warm and welcoming attitude.
Location
10.0
I loved the hotel's location, nestled in the Loop and just a short walk from major attractions like the Riverwalk and theaters. It made exploring Chicago a breeze, and I could easily stop by numerous restaurants and bars in the area.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were convenient, with Miss Ricky's offering some solid dishes and a good coffee shop on-site. However, the breakfast credit was a bit misleading since it only covered specific items, leaving me feeling slighted on a couple of occasions.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were a mix of impressive and confusing. I enjoyed the rooftop bar and its views, but the noise levels from there made it hard to unwind in my room. The on-site amenities were decent, though wireless connectivity could use some improvement.
